Krisean Performance Horses and our new.... Kiger Mustangs
Kiger Mustangs…intelligent, beautiful, versatile athletes…are considered “living genetic treasures” that embody the very essence of what it means to be called a horse.
Krisean Performance Horses in partnership with Rod Giffels is pleased to welcome two Kiger Mustangs to our herd. Steens Angelina is a 9 year old Kiger Mustang mare that was captured from the wild Kiger herd as a 2 year old. Steens Aleta is Angelina's yearling filly by Steens Vaquero.

Steens Angelina

Steens Angelina came to us in foal to Steens Vaquero for a June 2010 foal. She foaled a beautiful dun colt who immediately became "Scamp". We "think" he is for sale...if we can stand to give him up! Everyone visiting the ranch has become enamored with the three Kigers. What regal, kind horses yet with a spirit all their own.

Introducing... 2010 Kiger Mustang Colt ~ Steens El Tesoro
El Tesoro means "treasure" in Spanish and indeed what a treasure this colt is. He carries the blood of two wild Kiger mustangs caught from the Steens Mountain reserve in south eastern Oregon. Scamp, as he is known around the ranch, has one of the nicest lopes I have seen on such a young colt. Lead changes are effortless and a sliding stop usually ends a long run. Already he shows the promise of size and should mature over 15 hands.
